For working parents, attitudes toward balancing their job and their family life are highly correlated with their experiences as parents. For many working parents, balancing their jobs and their family obligations can be a challenge. While half of working parents say they and their spouses or partners are equally focused on their careers, the same is not true when it comes to compensation. White parents are more likely than those who are non-white to say it is difficult for them to balance work and family. Most parents who are married or living with a partner with whom they share at least one child say that, in their household, the mother does more than the father when it comes to certain tasks related to their children.
